I preach a pretty straightforward betting method. One pick, one unit, no parlays, no props.
Do I occasionally stray from this? Yes, I’ve taken parlays (and am actually quite successful at it) and I do occasionally take a few props, especially during NFL season.
One thing about this space that’s important to me is transparency - I’ve been 100% transparent since my early days when I found out a few people I trusted were actually not people you’d want to trust at all.
So when I make a blunder, it’s important to note that I will always show my work to the best of my ability. And yesterday was a huge blunder that will skew the numbers a bit - but it was all on me - and I’m the only one that will suffer from it.
So today’s recap looks a little “all over the place” and that has a lot to do with me trying to first, BET TOO MUCH MONEY on a sure thing single bet, then trying to hedge out of that play but then brain farting into taking the same play AGAIN and then cashing out of that same stupid play - it was a whole thing and I all but threw my phone across the room because of it.
Then we had that thing called an NBA Finals game last night - and I am still a bit beside myself that Haliburton didn’t show up and only scored 4 points on 0-6 shooting. Had he made just two shots, and nothing else changed in the game, we’d have hit that Pacers +9.5 play.
Sometimes mistakes happen or teams / players don’t show up, and you have to learn from those moments and do the best you can to mitigate them moving forward.
None of the above mistakes affected the chosen bets for you and I’d make them again today in a heartbeat.
But it was important that you got some context as to why yesterday looked like the hot mess that it was.
Anyway, you’ll ALWAYS get my best effort, you’ll always get my reasoning and you’l always get my receipts.
I hope, if nothing else, that builds your trust in the process.
